Hi, I’m Lexie West!
I’m a multimedia producer, videographer, and photographer based in Staunton, Virginia, with a passion for documentary-style storytelling that inspires and connects. My journey in visual media has taken me from the U.S. Air Force to higher education, where I’ve spent nearly a decade turning real people and real moments into impactful visual stories.
I currently serve as the Content Creator & Social Media Manager at Mary Baldwin University, producing video, photo, and social content that highlights the university’s vibrant, inclusive community and supports recruitment and brand initiatives. Previously, I was a videographer at the Virginia Military Institute, where I documented cadet life, institutional milestones, and alumni stories through cinematic video and social-first campaigns.
Before working in higher education, I began my storytelling career in the U.S. Air Force as a public affairs specialist and broadcast journalist, creating photo, video, and radio content for audiences across the Department of Defense and international partners.
I recently completed my M.S. in Communications from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where I focused on digital storytelling, audience engagement, and media innovation. Across every project, my goal is the same: to create authentic, people-first visuals that make viewers feel something and remember your story.
Let’s work together to tell your story in a way that’s honest, compelling, and true to who you are.
